Marriage Fellowship Ministry
Mission Statement
The Marriage Fellowship Ministry is a lay organization developed to aid married couples
in living out the gift of the sacrament of matrimony. Its focus is to keep married
couples aware of the value of marriage as a covenant relationship, which mirrors the
covenant relationship between God and his people.
Married couples proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when they live
responsibly, in unity, in faith and in deep intimacy. The goals of the ministry is to develop
a deeper understanding of the covenant relationship we have with our spouse and explore
ways to keep fun and laughter in marriage. We meet six times per year to enjoy a variety
of fellowship activities from Christ centered presentations to fun social outings. A repast
is held at the end of each gathering in which couples are asked to bring a dish to share.
Our desire is that couples grow in unity, faith and intimacy, realizing that with a God
centered Sacramental marriage, couples grow closer to each other and thereby closer to God.

Foundational Scriptures
Genesis 2:21-25 New International Version (NIV)
21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he
took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he
brought her to the man.
23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’for she was taken out of man.”
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they
become one flesh.
25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
Ephesians 4:1-6 New International Version (NIV)
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have
2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
